In the beginning God . . . . Genesis 1:1
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28
Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. Genesis 1:29
And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. Genesis 1:30
God - Owner
You - Supervisor
Money - Servant
Is money your servant or your master?
1. Give First.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38
Priority
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. Proverbs 3:9-10
Percentage
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Progressive
One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:24-25
2. Save Second.
The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down. Proverbs 21:20
[T]he borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7
3. Live with gratitude and contentment on the remainder.
I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. Philippians 4:11-12
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Philippians 4:11-13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
