When Mary poured expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet it wasn't supposed to make sense to Judas or the disciples because God's love doesn't make sense. God's love is offensive to common wisdom. It mocks logic. It doesn't add up and doesn’t even try to. It doesn't calculate risk versus reward. It simply pays without worrying about the price.
