During our family Christmas gathering a few months ago, one of my nephews surprised my mom with a gift. As she carefully opened the package and pulled out this shiny new trinket, my nephew said, "It was on clearance and only cost $4!" (actually I don't remember the amount... but you get the idea!). Somehow a gift loses some of it's allure when you find out there was no great sacrifice or effort (Don't you love getting re-gifted?). In Acts 4-5 we find the story of Ananias and Sapphira who try and fool the disciples, and apparently God, into believing they generous and righteous. They learn you can hide money or secrets from God.
