As we revisit Isaiah 6:1-13, we find a way to understand our act of worshiping God. Every time we come to church, we come to worship. So, let’s take a closer look at how we should worship. I use the acronym W.O.R.S.H.I.P. to help us remember some important points. W=Worthship . . . We come to give praise and glory to our God who is worthy of our praise. We need to be less self-conscious and more God-conscious. O=Outside . . . Enter to worship, exit to serve, taking our worship outside our church building. R=Reliance . . . Rely on God when we worship and let Him move us outside the box. S=Suspense . . . Expect that our
worship of God is going to do something to us. What are you expecting? H=Hungry . . . Be hungry for God’s word. If you don’t come hungry you won’t leave full. Filling your life with junk does not leave room for God. I=Illuminating . . . Worship should reveal your heart to you and help you understand Who and What God is. P=Prayer . . . God’s people are a praying people. Praying should be a way of life. Pray without ceasing is a command. So, the next time you attend church, remember what you are there for. W.O.R.S.H.I.P. can be the most comforting time of your life.
