We are at the end of this declaration of the new covenant, and have begun the work of looking at the forgiveness that is ours in the death of Jesus Christ. Does that forgiveness mean that there are never any cost or consequence that we experience in this life for our sin? Does it mean that God loses something that He once held in His mind? Is forgetting part of the bargain? Will we skate away laughing up our sleeves at God because we pulled one over on Him? Because we know we are guilty but God thinks we are not? Just what does God actually promise here?
