A year and a half ago, the Toronto
Blue Jays season came to a close far too quickly. It came down to the final day
of the season, and they beat the Baltimore Orioles resoundingly, but they had
to count on the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox both losing. Boston
came from behind in the last few innings to win, and the Yankees won in the
bottom of the ninth, and just like that, the season ended.
Also unfortunately, the Blue Jays had
a couple of players who were instrumental in their season who would move on -
Robbie Ray, who would win the Cy Young award, and Marcus Semien, a great second
baseman. They were both free agents, and would most likely go to the highest

were especially impressed by Semien's work ethic. He was there early every day,
stayed late, always worked hard in the gym, in batting practice, and fielding.
Quite simply, he was an inspiration for the rest of the team. When Marcus was
working so hard to improve himself, the team of young players emulate him. They
wouldn't dare let him down!
