This past year we’ve experienced a lot of anger as a society. And the world often doesn’t seem to know what to do with all of this anger. Pastor Manny shares with us that anger isn’t a new concept. When looking at this passage in Matthew, it’s likely that Joseph felt a lot of strong emotions of anger and betrayl when hearing the news of Mary’s pregnancy. And yet he responds with mercy, unwilling to put her to shame. This response is so opposite to what we normally see in the world and in ourselves. However, Joseph’s response is the exact kind of response that we all need.
