This week, I visited The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of James Baldwin.
The event featured a conversation between Yahdon Israel and Che "Rhymefest" Smith and the opening of NYPL & The Schomburg Center's exhibit Jimmy! God's Black Revolutionary Mouth.
Highlights include: A new neighborhood, a new friend, great conversation, Baldwin's beautiful singing voice, and a refreshed and reaffirmed love for language.
