God’s Daily Faithfulness

Psalm 37:3, 5

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 5 Commit (roll off onto) your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.

Recognizing God’s daily faithfulness to us, I believe, is very often overlooked or not noticed at all. It’s a good thing that many of us stop before starting to eat our meal, bow our heads and hearts, and give thanks for the food we have been given. We are recognizing God’s daily faithfulness to us. But do we truly recognize how He guides and guards our lives, moment by moment, day by day, week by week, etc.? Do we daily “feed on His faithfulness?” Abba faithfully provides, guides, and will even carry our burdens and concerns if we will only commit (roll off onto) Him all that is in our hearts and minds. Proverbs 16:3 tells us to, “Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.” We are encouraged to roll our works into God’s care, knowing that He is ever for us, and knowing that we can feed on His faithfulness. When we were in Kenya, two of our daughters wanted to take a camel ride at one of the parks where rides were offered. What an adventure for them! It’s a great memory.  Here’s what I want us to get from the camel experience. The camel had two young ladies on its back. When it was time for the girls to get off his back, the camel knelt down, tilted his body far to one side and the girls pretty much were able to roll off. This is what our heavenly Father would have us do every day, roll every care and concern off of our minds and hearts, and feed on His powerful faithfulness to us. We can trust the Lord to heal, provide, protect and direct us, all in His daily faithfulness as we roll all our concerns onto Him. This takes surrendering and remembering, by faith, that as Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” This is what truly happens as we learn to surrender everything, every care and concern to Him, we can rest and relax that He will direct our steps each and every day. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s begin today to intentionally make time to slow down before the Lord and share our heart with Him. Don’t leave out anything, tell Him everything big and everything small. Give it all to Jesus. He will continue to be faithful to you and I pray that it will be in ways that you will not be able to miss that He is faithful, faithful, faithful God. Feed on His faithfulness for you today.

What about you? Do you recognize God’s faithfulness in your life? Are you rolling every care over onto Him, your great burden bearer? Are you trusting in Him and watching, waiting and expecting Him to bring what you’ve committed to the Lord to pass? Feed on His constant faithfulness to you. His love never runs out! He loves you so! Blessings on your day.
