Gresham Machen -1881-1937- said of the Atonement, -This Bible doctrine is not intricate or subtle. On the contrary, though it involves mysteries, it is itself so simple that a child can understand it.- Christ died for our salvation-----Limited -definite- atonement - the atonement is designed for definite individuals who are effectively saved by it. God has particular people in view in the design of the atonement to purchase all the blessings of salvation for his people.
