As Ourselves
Love your neighbor as yourself.

God’s Deposit
Ephesians 1:11-14
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Self-Love can be a moral virtue. This truth is supported by Biblically based theological reflection.
SEQUENCE: Our salvation in Christ follows a specific sequence.
SEAL: The Holy Spirit indwells each believer and signals God’s ownership of our lives.
Exodus 25-40: God gave Israel detailed instructions concerning the construction of the Tabernacle.
1 Kings 5-9: God gave Solomon detailed instructions concerning the construction of the Temple in Jerusalem.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
-1 Corinthians 6:19-20
SECURITY: The Holy Spirit is the gift Who guarantees our eternal security as believers!
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
-2 Corinthians 1:21-22
STATUS: As believers, we are God’s people—His special possession!
We have grown used to expecting the Spirit of God to speak in a gentle whisper, nor a roaring wind. We have sought him in the promptings of our hearts or the resolutions of our committees. We are in danger of forgetting that it is God we are talking about: the God who created us, the God who sustains us and has sovereign rights over us. This God can and does break into human life, and sometimes he does it through the violent, the unexpected, the alien.
