God’s Direction
Jeremiah 29:10-14
Why does it matter that we find the right direction for our lives?
God has designed us, and He desires to be in a relationship with us. Should it surprise us that He has plans for us?
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” – the things God has prepared for those who love him.
– 1 Corinthians 2:9
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
– Ephesians 2:10
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye upon you.
– Psalm 32:8
Trust in the LORD with all our heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
-Proverbs 3:5-6
Often I have not known where I was going until I was already there. I have had my share of desires and goals, but my life has come to me or I have gone to it mainly by way of mistakes and surprises. Often I have received better than I deserved. Often my faintest hopes have rested on bad mistakes. I am an ignorant pilgrim, crossing a dark valley. And yet for a long time, looking back, I have been unable to shake off the feeling that I have been led—make of that what you will.
-Wendell Berry
Life can only be understood looking backwards but has to be lived forwards.
-Soren Kierkegaard
God’s direction for our lives is connected to His design and reflects His desire to be in relationship with us!
