What happens when God calls you into a new frontier—not somewhere out in the world, but within yourself?
In this episode of the God's Eye Podcast, a workplace joke becomes an unexpected invitation to examine spiritual growth, Christian discipleship, leadership, and surrender.
Returning to the blacksmith's forge, we discover how hammer strokes, unfinished metal, and teaching others to forge can reveal deeper lessons about God's formation in our lives.
We explore what it means to trust God's timing, follow a vision without seeing the entire path, and surrender control without abandoning personal responsibility.
Along the way, we reflect on Abraham's journey of faith, the difference between career and calling, and why meaningful spiritual growth often happens gradually rather than all at once.
In this episode:
Scripture for further study: Romans 8:28; Genesis 12:1; Genesis 22; Proverbs 29:18; Luke 12:48; Nehemiah.
*Isaac's Age at the Binding
Genesis 22 does not explicitly state Isaac's age when Abraham was instructed to offer him. Some Jewish interpretive traditions describe Isaac as an adult, including a tradition placing him at approximately 37 years old. His precise age cannot be established conclusively from the biblical text alone.
God's Eye Podcast is a production of God's Eye Productions, exploring faith, spiritual formation, Christian discipleship, and the ways God works through ordinary life.

What does it mean to follow Jesus beyond Sunday morning? How do we move from responding to an altar call to actually living as His disciples?
In Part 2 of our conversation with Douglas Vandergraph, we explore Christian discipleship as a lifelong journey of relationship, consistency, surrender, and spiritual growth.
We begin by discussing discipleship at a walking pace, reflecting on how Jesus spent time with His disciples through ordinary conversations, shared experiences, and everyday life.
Our conversation explores leading by example, forgiveness, testimony, developing consistency in prayer, and recognizing God's work through ordinary experiences.
Douglas also shares his perspective on authentic Christian ministry, the dangers of the prosperity gospel, and finding fulfillment through relationships rather than possessions.
We discuss responding to God's calling when we feel unqualified, creating Christian content with authenticity, and learning to follow Jesus through the process.
Finally, we return to the central question: What is one practical step someone can take after accepting Christ to begin living as His disciple?

What happens after someone responds to the altar call? What does following Jesus look like when Sunday morning ends and everyday life begins?
In Part 1 of this two-part conversation, God's Eye Podcast welcomes Christian writer, Bible teacher, and digital creator Douglas Vandergraph to explore discipleship, spiritual formation, and the importance of genuine relationships.
We begin by getting to know Douglas through his experiences in digital ministry, a life-changing accident, recovery, and family life. Along the way, we discuss sharing our testimonies, the Samaritan woman, trust, surrender, and recognizing opportunities to serve God beyond the walls of the church.
This is an unscripted conversation about the ongoing journey of following Jesus and becoming disciples who make disciples.

Can artificial intelligence help us understand ourselves without replacing our need for God and human connection?
In this episode of The God’s Eye Podcast, I share how using AI to prepare for a job interview became an unexpected journey into faith, fear, control, and Christian discipleship.
AI could see the pattern. But God saw me.
After spending weeks using AI to prepare for a job interview, I walked in with pages of carefully organized information—and walked out realizing that all my preparation hadn’t addressed what was happening underneath it: fear, control, rejection, and a deep need to feel seen.
That disappointment began a much different journey.
We’ll explore AI and faith, neurodivergence and bottom-up thinking, the danger of turning useful tools into substitutes for trust, and why human connection still matters. I also share how prayer, Scripture, and community began reaching something much deeper than the interview itself.
Along the way, we’ll look at Hagar and “the God who sees me,” Jesus meeting people in their need, the 99 and the one, our longing for Eden, and what happened when something as simple as saying “good morning” began opening doors to community.
AI can recognize patterns. It can organize information. It can even help us find words for things we struggle to explain.
But it isn’t God. It isn’t your therapist. And it shouldn’t become your safety net.
This episode isn’t simply about technology. It’s a testimony about discipleship, surrender, being seen, and learning again where our trust belongs.
The God’s Eye Podcast explores what comes after accepting Christ: the ongoing, everyday process of discipleship and learning to walk with God.
*Scripture & Theological Clarification
A note about Jesus healing on the Sabbath: In this episode, I refer to healing being prohibited on the Sabbath under Old Testament law. To clarify, the Old Testament does not explicitly prohibit acts of healing on the Sabbath. The controversy surrounding Jesus’ Sabbath healings involved interpretations of Sabbath observance held by certain religious leaders. Jesus taught that doing good and showing mercy were consistent with God’s purposes for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27; Mark 3:1–6; Luke 13:10–17).
A note about Hagar: When discussing Hagar and El Roi, the God who sees me, I am not suggesting that God approved of her mistreatment or the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy. Genesis 16 describes a serious imbalance of power and human wrongdoing. My focus is on God’s recognition of Hagar’s suffering and His encounter with her in the wilderness (Genesis 16:1–13).
Scripture References
• Genesis 16:1–13 — Hagar and the God who sees
• Mark 2:27 and Mark 3:1–6 — Jesus and the Sabbath
• Luke 4:40 — Jesus healing the sick
• 2 Timothy 1:7 — God has not given us a spirit of fear
• Matthew 6:33 — Seek first the kingdom of God
• Galatians 5:16 — Walk by the Spirit
• Hebrews 12:1–2 — Run with perseverance, looking to Jesus

Sharing your faith doesn’t have to feel awkward, rehearsed, or overwhelming.
In this episode, we explore what it really means to share your testimony—not as a sales pitch or religious performance, but as a genuine invitation to experience Jesus. Whether you struggle with anxiety, autism, fear of rejection, or simply don’t know where to begin, God can use your story.
Discover practical ways to recognize open doors, listen before speaking, follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, and share Christ through everyday conversations, acts of kindness, creativity, and authentic relationships.
Your testimony doesn’t have to be dramatic.
It just has to point people to Jesus.
As God’s Eye Productions begins its Summer 2026 hiatus, this episode is a challenge to stay rooted in prayer, trust God to open the right doors, and look for opportunities to share His love wherever you are this summer.

In Part 3 of our Biblical Christianity vs. Cultural Christianity series, we conclude the conversation by examining the growing divide between authentic surrender to Christ and a version of Christianity shaped more by comfort, identity, politics, and culture than Scripture. This episode explores the difference between following Jesus versus following the idea of Jesus, while discussing the early church, costly discipleship, circumcision of the heart, sacrifice, and spiritual transformation through the Holy Spirit. We also examine how modern Christianity can drift into performance, convenience, or cultural identity rather than genuine relationship and obedience to Christ.

In Part 2 of this ongoing series on Biblical Christianity vs Cultural Christianity, we go deeper into the heart of the divide between outward religion and inward transformation.
This episode explores how cultural Christianity often becomes centered around image, morality, politics, behavior modification, and social identity — while biblical Christianity begins with genuine heart transformation through Christ.
We unpack:
• Why cultural Christianity is often external while biblical Christianity is inward
• The dangers of performative faith and appearance-based spirituality
• How church culture can unintentionally exasperate children and create burnout
• The importance of balance, fellowship, rest, and authentic discipleship
• Lessons from the Desert Fathers and Saint Anthony on spiritual balance
• How media, outrage, politics, and offense can “jam” spiritual discernment
• The metaphor of spiritual antennas and staying connected to God’s voice
• Why both political extremes can misuse the Gospel for social agendas
• The difference between salvation and simple behavior modification
• Why many believers struggle with faith that was never internally rooted
• How authentic transformation produces spiritual fruit over time
• The danger of “whitewashed tomb” Christianity
• The shift from outward striving to deeper communion with God as faith matures
This conversation is reflective, challenging, and deeply personal — examining modern church culture, spiritual burnout, hypocrisy, media influence, discipleship, discernment, and what it truly means to abide in Christ rather than merely appear religious.
If you’ve ever wrestled with shallow faith, church performance culture, political Christianity, or the tension between outward religion and inward transformation, this episode is for you.

Now that we’ve had time to sit with Easter, this episode steps back into the story—not to revisit it briefly, but to follow the full thread of what actually happened and why it still matters.
Beginning with the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we trace the journey of Jesus Christ through the tension of expectation, the weight of the crucifixion, and the depth of what was accomplished on the cross. More than a moment of suffering, the cross becomes the turning point—fulfilling what was set in motion long before through the Old Testament and revealing Jesus as the true Passover Lamb, bridging heaven and earth.
But the story doesn’t end there.
After the resurrection, Jesus was not just gone from the grave—He was seen. He walked with His followers, spoke with them, and revealed Himself over a 40-day period. These encounters grounded the resurrection in reality and began connecting everything: what happened at the cross, what had been foretold, and what was about to come next.
In this season between Easter and Pentecost, we explore why that waiting period matters.
Because after those 40 days, Jesus ascended—and the message left behind was clear:
He will return.
And until then, there is a calling.
This episode ties together:
This isn’t just a reflection—it’s a continuation of the story.
Because Easter wasn’t the finish line.
It was the beginning of what comes next.

What if your spiritual life had a check engine light… and it just came on?
In this episode, we explore a powerful and practical idea: learning how to check your spiritual condition before things break down.
Just like a car needs oil to run smoothly, your spiritual life needs regular attention—and most of us don’t realize we’re running low until something feels off.
This is where the idea of a spiritual dipstick comes in.
It’s a simple way to pause, take a reading, and ask:
Where am I really at with God right now?
Am I running full… or running dry?
Am I walking with Him… or avoiding something He’s trying to show me?
But this isn’t about pressure or performance.
It’s about awareness—and learning to walk with God through every season.
Because discipleship isn’t a checklist… it’s a journey.
Along the way, there are trailheads—places where God invites you deeper into prayer, healing, discernment, and growth. And sometimes, you don’t know where to go next.
That’s part of the process.
In this podcast, we walk that journey together. I go ahead, explore what God is revealing, and come back to share it—like a guide pointing out paths worth taking.
So if something feels off… if your “check engine light” has been on lately…
Slow down.
Take a look under the hood.
Pull out your spiritual dipstick…
and see what God might be revealing.
You might be closer than you think.
