God's fatherhood is not earned by your performance or lost through your failures. The father's faithfulness remains constant regardless of your conduct, because his love preceded any assurance of your response. This teaching addresses the lie that our actions determine how much of God's fatherhood we enjoy. The fullness of the godhead dwells permanently in Christ, and Christ dwells in you as a believer. Every other aspect of who God is serves his relationship as father to his sons. This is for you if you've ever felt that your mistakes have distanced you from God, or if you need to be reminded that your access to the father can never be cut off. This is for you if the enemy has been attacking your assurance of God's faithfulness through sophisticated arguments about your performance.
