“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

In this verse, we see three powerful truths:

1. God’s finished work in the past.

2. Our response in the present.

3. God’s promise for the future.

And in each of these truths, we also notice different English tenses—past, present, and future.
