Simon and his team of fisherman encountered the generosity of God in an amazing way in Luke 5. When a crowd gathers at the Sea of Galiliee to hear Jesus teach, the fisherman provided the boats. After a time of teaching, Jesus asked Simon and company to put out a little deeper and to drop their nets on the other side of the boat. After a little bit of grumbling, Simon and the other fisherman put their nets out on the other side of the boat and catch a miraculous catch of fish. This display of God’s power became a tremendous opportunity for Simon to live generously…possibly even acting out his generosity by feeding the crowd that had gathered. Maybe, just maybe…

God does amazing things in our lives every day, each of which is an opportunity for us to receive his generous provision and to then turn around and be generous to others.
