Good Friday is called ‘good’ because as Christians it's the day Jesus died on the cross, and by so doing offers salvation and forgiveness for humanity's sins.

On Good Friday something humanly terrible happened, but it was at the heart of God’s redemptive agenda for the GOOD of mankind.
