God's Guidance in Education: Navigating ADHD and Dyslexia in School | Heal(ed) Series
Christiana discusses her journey of healing and the topic of learning differences. She talks about her struggles with reading and comprehension throughout her education and how she finally got tested for learning differences in graduate school. She reveals that she has ADHD, inattentive type (previously known as ADD), and dyslexia. Christiana emphasizes the importance of inviting God into education, understanding learning differences, and how this has freed her to finally feel understood.
In this conversation, Christiana shares her personal experience with learning differences and how God provided her with accommodations, along with the educational accommodations that helped her in her studies. Before receiving formal accommodations, God gave her a solution using Google Translate to assist her through her Master’s program. Christiana also discusses the accommodations she received from the campus’s disability services, one of which was alternative text (audio) for textbooks. She emphasizes the importance of recognizing that learning differences do not make a person flawed and highlights the comfort and guidance she received from God throughout her journey.
