Looking at Cain and Abel in Genesis 4 and Jesus’ words in Matthew 5, this sermon reveals that murder begins long before blood is shed. It starts in the heart through anger, jealousy, pride, hatred, and the desire to erase others from our lives.
As we continue through the Ten Commandments, this message challenges us not to distance ourselves from the sin of murder as though it has nothing to do with us. Instead, it calls us to examine the deeper roots of sin in our own hearts and to see our need for transformation, repentance, and the grace of God.
