God's Letter to You

God’s Letter to You
“My son Job, I decided to write you this in reply to all you have been saying in my ears. I know we are close, but for a brief moment, you forgot that we were not mates. I think you should know some things. I made the world and decided how large it would be. I did the survey. I hold the pillars that support the earth. I laid the cornerstones of the world. Whilst I was doing all that, the stars were singing, and the heavenly beings were so happy.
Job my dear; I closed the gates to hold back the sea. I decided where its boundaries would be. I told the lights when to go on, and I tell them when not to hide the deeds of the wicked.
They know when to show forth the hills and the valleys. They also know when to make the wicked uncomfortable. Did you even know that there are springs in the sea? Or that there are floors in the oceans? Job, there is a lot you do not know. There are mysteries to life, and the dead have their space. There is a light source and darkness has roots.
I have storerooms I bet you did not know. In them, I keep hail and snow. They are my weapons of war. I know what lions eat, and I make sure they are available. I also ensure that the ravens as small as they are well fed. Have you ever noticed when mountain goats or even deer give birth? Do you understand their time of life? Tell me, what do you know about them? It is for me the wild ox works. I decide where they live and how they function.
Think about this, the ostrich, very foolish animal. She lays eggs and forgets about them. She does not care if those eggs are destroyed. She cares less about her young yet, when the ostrich runs, the horse and its riders are laughable. Job, the horse is not a small animal, she is a force to be reckoned with. As big as it is, it leaps like locusts, unafraid of battle, excited in war. Check out the eagle, exceptional being. Waits for no command of yours! Its home is high up on the rocks.
Beside me Job, you do not measure. I am a just God; how dare you imagine you understand my ways? My voice thunders loud. I am clothed in majesty and glory. I pour my anger on the proud to humble them. Behemoth the hippo is a beast, monstrous being. Do you know its food is grass? There is a lot you do not know, and even if you knew, you could not explain the complexities.
You are my son; I was just bragging on you. As you know, I can do as I please. I know you are wiser now. We'll talk later, but for now, you can have your life back. You have a better life than the one you had before all your troubles.”
My friend, if God were to write you a letter now, what will He say to you? Will yours be like Job or should we just let our imaginations be? But you know He already wrote to you. His letter to you is called the Bible. I know you have read parts of it, but did you pay attention to the issues He raised? Take my advice, take His thoughts seriously. The keys to the mysteries of your life
(Job 38:1-41 my paraphrase)
Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone – while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? “Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt’? “Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place, that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it? The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garmen
