This morning Fr. Ed Ruane, O.P. preached on God's great love affair with us. It is not sacrifices or offerings which God primarily desires. It is love and knowledge of Him and His ways. He does not want gifts from us if it means we don't truly love Him.

The Prophet Hosea asks us to return and to trust in God's loving embrace. No matter how many times we might fall into infidelity of sin, if we turn back to God, much like the tax collector in the Gospel does, we shall discover the wonderful news that God will not, nor will he ever, abandon us.
