Those who overcome will be rewarded in the new creation. Our world is made in conflict between good and evil and as a result the church will go through suffering (Rev. 2:9-10). Suffering forces us to choose between compromise (which can look lots of different ways: immorality, apathy, trusting in affluence, etc.) or faithfulness. The faithful are those who overcome and those who overcome will be rewarded in the new creation.
