The term “Deuteronomy” comes from the Greek words “deuteros” (“second”) and “nomos” (law).” So “Deuteronomy” literally means “second law.” It’s not a brand new law, but rather a repetition — a second giving — of God’s law.
The next generation of Israelites were not to embark on a quest for some “new truth.” Rather, they were to obey the revealed truth that they had already received from the Lord, who is the absolute and unchanging source of truth.
