Wonderful! A vision of heaven! Verses 24-25 remind us of Isaiah 11: a place of peace, long (eternal!) life and joy! Wonderful! But what is the context of the original hearers! Broken down Jerusalem, subsistence farming. How about us? We also have a great picture of heaven: Jerusalem descending, tree of life, no more tears… But what about our daily life: challenges at school and work; paying the bills, and the opposition of evil? How do we live between vision and fulfillment?

Where do we get the strength to endure?
