The Lord is not only our Rock, but he is also our Fortress. Fortress in the scriptures means a fortified place, a fort, a stronghold, a place of defense, or security. Therefore, the Psalmist is saying God's my strength; he's my security, my stronghold, he's what I am holding on to when the cares of life beat up on me, and I feel like I could die; he's my stronghold, I can hold on to him for strength to try again another day.

We are secure in him; we have a place of defense from the enemy and the things he throws at us daily. Not only does he want to kill us, but when he wants to make us weak in our Faith, if he can do that, then he weakens our Faith, and then he gets us weak in our Faith. We are prey for him to do whatever he wants with us. But the Lord is our fortress, our strength today, and we are secured in him.

Let us walk in this world today knowing that we are not here by ourselves; we have security, a stronghold in Jesus Christ, a place of defense, a fortified place in Jesus Christ. I find comfort in this Word today; how about you? God's our strength; he fortifies us each and every day, and we are secure in him. Who was on my side if it had not been for the Lord? Finish it for yourselves today…

Family, we have a fortress in God today, and that Fortress gives us strength each and every day. You are fortified today in Jesus's name. Amen.
