Every time the Lord has a good plan the devil shows up to try and ruin it.
It happened in the garden of Eden. It happened after the flood. 
Usually it happens outside of the "Church" But somewhere in the 4th century the devil became more devious; he began to work inside the church.
This continues to this day...
