I once met a woman who said, “I’m afraid God will not love me because I’ve made some really bad mistakes in my life.” She went on to tell that all of her family and friends had left her, so she assumed God would leave her too. I assured her that no matter what sins she had committed, she would be forgiven if she asked for God’s forgiveness and had a relationship with Him.

God sent Jesus to die on the cross for all of our sins, before we had ever even received Him. Jesus took the penalty for all our sins on Himself on the cross of Calvary. Because of that, God offers us forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” And Acts 3:19 says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”

Do you know Jesus? Have you repented for the times you’ve messed up or fallen short? If you have, ask for God’s forgiveness and rest easy in His unending grace.
