Has someone ever broken a promise to you? Or, perhaps you broke a promise to someone else — despite whatever good intentions you may have had. Thankfully, God does not break His promises. Never. Not ever! And as followers of Christ, we can find comfort in knowing that God’s promises for us are absolutely trustworthy.
God promises to strengthen us, to protect us, and to empower us. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
God also promises to be faithful. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 says, “…the Lord is faithful and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” The promises of God are vast and far-reaching. They are all throughout the Bible. And every single one of them can be relied on. This week, spend some time reading God’s promises. Then, tell someone in your life and in your world how God’s promises have given you assurance and hope and joy.
