Ephesians 3:8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints,
this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable
riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the
plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things,
10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might
now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly
places. 11 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has
realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness
and access with confidence through our faith in him. - (ESV)
Genesis 37:5 Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his
brothers, they hated him all the more. 6 He said to them, “Listen
to this dream I had: 7 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the
field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your
sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.”
God’s promotions are evident in hindsight
1. God works out His plans in ways we can’t recognize
2. Joseph’s dreams lead to his first promotion as slave
3. Joseph’s upright lifestyle got him a 2nd promotion
4. Years in the jail prepared him for a third promotion
5. God sent Joseph ahead to Egypt to preserve life
