As we study the history of Israel we can see God's salvation being worked out in real-time history for all to see. Israel was trapped in slavery in Egypt. There was no escape. Israel was defenseless in view of the mighty power of Egypt. Israel was also defenseless in view of the vast desert that would bring certain death to anyone daring to escape. God chose Moses to lead his people out of Egypt.

God's people were instructed to slay a lamb and place the blood of the lamb on the sides and tops of the doorframes of their houses. "When I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt" (Exodus 12:13). That first Passover would be fulfilled by the LAST Passover. Jesus Christ would enter this fallen world to fulfill God's prophetic salvation by becoming OUR Passover Lamb today.
