Unbelief: The Enemy of God’s Best
Manifestations of unbelief
Inferior self-image (Numbers 13:27-33)
Distrust of the Lord’s intentions (Numbers 14:3) (Middle is not the end)
Disdain for Godly leadership (Numbers 14:2, 10)
Desire to go back to old patterns (Number 14:3, 4)
Unbelief: The Enemy of God’s Rest
What God’s Rest is NOT: The absence of opposition (Internal and external)
What God’s Rest IS:
Internal Order (peace) – absence of internal disturbance. (Temporary “troubling” can be motivational, healthy. Continual troubling is counterproductive, wearying!
Assurance of the end results
R - Revelation of His Presence. (Philippians 4:5)
E - Expectation of His Results being worked out. (Philippians 2:13)
S - Standing Firm on His Promises. (Hebrews 4:12)
T - Total surrender to His Agenda. (Philippians 2:12, 13; Romans 8:28; Proverbs 3:5)
