"God's tithes, and Our offerings"
From my little catch phrase, I'll say it again: "God does recommend that you give an offering to free your attitude and show your gratitude." (Psalms 116:12-18) paraphrased read it. The freedom in your attitude of knowing that everything comes from God, the freedom of your gratitude of giving back to Him who gave us everything, we're just returning it, Ok? (1Chronicles 29:14) paraphrased read it. God gave His best gift in His Son and His sacrifice for our eternal lives. Just as we have a choice with our offering, God had a choice with offering His son. Jesus could have easily said no Father I'll just destroy this batch of humans and make a new one, but he loved the man & woman that he had made so much: Adam/mankind that he willingly gave His life to redeem us.
How much more today we could make an offering of love to our fellow man to sacrificially give of our needs/our possessions just to answer the call; the one great call, here is the Lord's tithes and your offering. that I like to present to you today and that is: "To love God with all our heart soul and mind," and "to love one another as I/Jesus Christ have loved you." (Matthew 22:37-40 & John 13:34, 35) Read it. Think about that, is that too much to ask? That we give something that didn't cost us any thing, but maybe a little bit of effort.
