If you’ve ever heard someone quote 1 Thessalonians 5:9 to defend the pre-trib rapture — “God has not appointed us to wrath” — this episode is for you.
Because that verse is true. But what most people don’t realize is that the Greek New Testament uses two completely different words for tribulation and wrath — and they don’t describe the same event, the same source, or the same people.
In this episode I walk through:
∙ The difference between thlipsis (Satan’s tribulation against the saints) and orgē (God’s divine wrath on the unrepentant)
∙ What the seals of Revelation 6 actually show us — and why believers are still present through them
∙ Where the rapture falls on the timeline, and why it matters that God’s wrath doesn’t arrive until the sixth seal
∙ Why this distinction is not just theological — it’s a preparation issue, especially right now
Jesus promised us thlipsis in this world. He did not promise us escape from hard days. He promised us we would not face His judgment. Those are two very different things — and the church needs to know the difference.
