When a team is operating well, they are supportive and generous with each other – generosity of spirit, of time, and of assistance. When that’s the atmosphere, turnover is low and targets are achieved or exceeded. When people are guarded and suspicious, they are in fear, and fear creates high turnover and low team output.
If you want to improve the atmosphere around you, think about what you and your people might be afraid of. Even one toxic person can destroy team cohesion. Find a way to remove the toxicity and watch generosity, support and assistance return to your team.
