On today’s show we welcome a pair of hall of famers who teamed up to win the 1985 Breeders Cup Classic with Proud Truth, trainer John Veitch and jockey Jorge Velasquez. John reminisces about his training years and tells stories about great horses he trained like Alydar, Our Mims, Sunshine Forever, Davona Dale, Brian’s Time and Before Dawn. Jorge speaks about how he made it to ride in the US, coming from Panama as a teenager and landing at Atlantic City Racecourse. We also talk about some of the champions he rode like Spectacular Bid, Alydar, Fort Marcy, Shuvee, Chris Everett, Desert Vixen, Lady’s Secret and Pleasant Colony.
