I have so many students on the XC team, and they were asking me to make it to a race, so when the race Friday afternoon was up in my neck of STL county, I knew I couldn't miss it.

Cross country meets are fun! They're like a festival - tents, people all milling about...cheering...catching up with old friends. They share a lot with track meets, but the out-in-the-woods nature of this race lended the music festival vibes even more.

All this running had me reflecting on my own high school athletic career and my thoughts on the runner's mind (are they just crazy?)
