So much gold has been flowing into US vaults that the Bank of England has been unable to honor physical withdrawal requests in real time (whereas before requests could be honored in as little as 2 days, depositors now have to wait as long as 8 weeks to get their hands on the shiny stuff). 

What's going on here?
