Two friends eating and drinking their way through Gold –Book 5 of the Plated Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy!
SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES

Ribbon Twist Breadsticks
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed, cold but pliable)
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp honey (optional, for glaze)
Pinch of flaky sea salt (optional)
Optional shimmer:
Edible gold dust or gold sugar for a gilded touch
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
Brush puff pastry lightly with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Cut into ½-inch wide strips (use a pizza cutter for easy slicing).
Twist each strip a few times and place it on the baking sheet, pressing down the ends to keep the twist shape.
Brush the tops lightly with more butter.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
While still warm, drizzle lightly with honey and sprinkle with a pinch of flaky sea salt or a touch of edible gold shimmer.
Wine/Cocktail Pairing: Apothic Red Wine
Apothic Red is perfect for Gold because this book is all about duality — rot and gold, love and ruin, trauma and recovery — and this wine walks that same line.
It’s smooth and sweet on the surface but ends with that little smoky bite, like the aftertaste of power reclaimed.
