  • PGA Champions John Mahaffey & Shaun Micheel Plus Bob Lazzari & Nathan Grube...
Former PGA Champions John Mahaffey & Shaun Micheel plus my Thursday Night Tailgate Co-Host Bob Lazzari and Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube join me.
John Mahaffey shares his thoughts on The Open Championship and his experiences playing in 4 of them. We also hear about the advice Lee Trevino gave him that improved his short game and driving accuracy. I get John's thoughts on LIV Golf, his amazing comeback from 7 strokes down with 14 holes to play to win the 1978 PGA Championship, and how he's giving back to the game.
Shaun Micheel weighs in with his thoughts on the Open Championship and his experience playing in the 2005 Open at St. Andrews. We also go back to 1998 when Shaun won the Singapore Open, an important tournament on the Asian Tour whose winners include major champions like Adam Scott, Angel Cabrera, and Sergio Garcia plus Matt Kuchar.
Bob and Nathan talk about the storied history of The Travelers Championship going back to the days when it was the Sammy Davis Jr. Greater Hartford Open. We also hear about the course at TPC River Highlands, the drama and heartbreak that took place this year on the 72nd hole this year, plus the impact that LIV Golf will have on the tournament field going forward.

  • Dottie Pepper, Nick O'Hern, & Michael Breed Join Me...
2 time Major Champion Dottie Pepper, the only player to beat Tiger Woods twice in match play Nick O'Hern, & one of the Top Instructors and Host of A New Breed of Golf, Michael Breed, join me...
Dottie Pepper became the first On-Course Commentator in Master's history. She shares the story of how that came about, plus Tiger's surprise when he saw her inside the ropes. She also tells the stories of how she was able to get into Augusta National and down Magnolia Lane to see the final round of the 1987 Masters when she was a senior at Furman. She answers the question of what the greatest round is that she's ever witnessed either as a player or commentator, and the dramatic finish from when she captured her first LPGA major championship victory at the 1992 ANA Inspiration.
Nick O'Hern talks about his new book "How To Play Your Best Golf, Strategies From A Tour Pro. I also get his thoughts on players going over to the LIV Tour, what his strategy was that allowed him to beat Tiger Woods twice in World Match Play events, plus why players insist on going for the pin on 12 at Augusta National during the final round when we've seen so many of those shots wind up in Rae's Creek.
Michael Breed starts out talking about his dream to play Major League Baseball and the time when he pitched back-to-back games one righthanded and one lefthanded. We hear about the endowment fund he started for the men's golf team at his college alma mater in honor of his coach Ted Keller. Michael also shares his experience qualifying for and then playing in the 1994 Greater Hartford Open. I get his perspective on the LIV Tour, plus Lexi Thompson's performance at the KPMG PGA Championship.

  • Tom Patri, Debbie O'Connell, Charlie Mechem, & Steve Yellin Join Me...
Two of the Top Instructors in the game, Tom Patri and Debbie O'Connell plus former LPGA Tour Commission & Author Charlie Mechem, and the Designer of a program called Fluid Motion Factor, Steve Yellin, Join Me...
Our resident Director of Instruction Tom Patri shares his concerns about the LIV Tour, the proposed changes the PGA Tour is looking to make for next season, and if Will Zalatoris was his student, what he would have said to him Sunday night after his third 2nd place finish in a major.
Debbie O'Connell is annually recognized by the LPGA as a Top 50 Instructor. We delved deeply into our mental approach. We hear about what "flow state" is, her Keys To A Champion Mindset, how to not listen to our inner critic, and how to stay in the moment when we're on pace to shoot our best round ever and our buddies say things like, "hey if you par the last 2 holes you'll break 80."
Charlie Mechem has a new book out titled: "Arnie & Jack, Stories Of My Long Friendship with Two Remarkable Men". Listen in as Charlie shares several of the stories in the book including, how he convinced them to co-design The King & The Bear Course at the World Golf Village when neither wanted to do it. We hear how different both men viewed playing golf when they got older, Arnie played every day and Jack rarely plays. He tells the hilarious story of how Arnie couldn't understand why anyone wouldn't go for it on 13 & 15 at Augusta National...do you know how many times I finished 2nd in The Masters? Neither do I.
Steven Yellin created a program called Fluid Motion Factor. He delves deeply into brain function and how we've grooved our swings but what gets in the way is our minds. We learn about turning our intellect off, finding wholeness and the key element being that moment before we start our backswing.
