Iowa is 2nd overall on the list no one wants to be on- Cancer Rates per capita. What’s the explanation? Well, that’s where the Iowa Environmental Council steps in. This organization just celebrated 30-years of pairing positive environmental practice with good policy. In this conversation, I’m joined by the Senior Director of Policy and Programs, Kerri Johannsen. She has spent her professional career dedicated to energy and environmental solutions that are supported by good policy. From working on Senator Harkin’s Farm Bill to 9-years with the IEC, Kerri says we’ve reached a ‘crisis moment’ but one that must be met with nuance.
