SUNDAY May 28- 2023- YEAR 2- Episode# 65 Good Sunday Morning with Fr Andre on KNUS 710 am. Pentecost Sunday: "The Gifts and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and the Renewal of the Face of the Earth”
RADIO SHOW Description: This Sunday marks the 50th day after the Sunday of Easter. It is called: Pentecost Sunday, or the Sunday on which the Holy Spirit came down and dwelled in the form of tongues of fire on the 12 apostles and the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus who was with them in the upper room in Jerusalem. Fr Andre explores the identity, the gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. What is the relationship of the Holy Spirit with the Creation and the renewal of the creation? In fact we could speak of an earlier moment similar to Pentecost right before the Incarnation of Jesus. It is when the Angel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and told her in Luke chapter 1:35: (NASB1995) “The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.””
It is for this reason that in the early church, Mary is called: “The Spouse of the Spirit”. What is the connection between the Holy Spirit and the renewal of the offsprings of mankind? What is the connection between the Holy Spirit and the renewal of the face of the earth? Jesus introduces the Holy Spirit as the Advocate, the Paraclete, the Defender and Consoler. Jesus also called the Holy Spirit the Spirit of the Father. The Holy Spirit inspires and give fortitude to the martyrs to give witness and testimony for the Kingdom of Heaven before nations and leaders of the world. The Holy Spirit is what Christians all receive at the r time of baptism and confirmation. With the numbers of Christian baptisms going down,
What role does the Holy Spirit play between faith and reason in the critical sense of christians who try to reconcile between empirical knowledge and the knowledge of the Divine Mysteries of Heaven? Can Christianity today in the world survive between the contrast of faith and reason?Can the leaders of the church today be inspired by the Holy Spirit while the church administration seems to get more and more relative to cultures and educational systems of nations in which the church is growing? How can we pray to the Holy Spirit in order to prevent that Christians will not suffer confusion and does not lose the vision of Heaven? Can Christianity today coexist in a society that is returning to magic, satanic worships and rejection of the Spirit of God?
