WHAT WILL THE GUESTS SPEAK ABOUT: Why defending the persecuted Christians and defending their fundamental rights is crucial for a healthy society and for the promotion of the culture of peace. Also what it is important to support the persecuted church in the rest of the world.
The Trial against Christianity, the Observatory for Discrimination and Intolerance against Christians in Europe is a Civil Society Organization focused on research, education, awareness building, and empowerment of Christians in Europe. For years now they have investigated over 4500 cases of discrimination and intolerance against Christians in Europe, amongst them are numerous cases of hate crimes and also significant limitations of religious freedom of Christians. What is there to learn from this European observatory for United States and Canada? These and other questions in our conversation with Madeleine Enzlberger. Some of the main bullet points will be: the dynamics of the secular intolerance on the systemic and social level; the second bullet point is the problem of universities and what the consequences of censorship and the chilling effect on the future generations of Europe and in the West. the Observatory rarely uses the term “cancel culture”because it is a trigger term for specific ideologies. Instead for strategic reasons, the Observatory approaches the reality of the Christian persecution from a secular position that has neutrality and truth in it.
BIO: Ms. Madeleine Enzlberger
Madeleine Enzlberger, currently functions as the executive director of the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe. Before joining the Observatory Ms. Enzlberger was active as an entrepreneur in Vienna. She obtained an MA in International Administration and Conflict Management form the University of Konstanz (Germany) and spent an academic year at the University of Warwick (England) specializing in International Security. Enzlberger also conducted field research in Iraq where she focused on international religious freedom policy and the persecution of Christians.
