Welcome to Poder Speaks! We are young Latinx change makers developing a new narrative for NC politics that centers the leadership and voices of Black and brown communities. This season of Poder Speaks we are focused on the Power we hold as individuals and a collective. Stay tuned for more episodes as we connect with leaders from across NC.

To kick of the series we have a special guest, mother and public health advocate,  Carla Catalán Day who joins us to discuss her vision for North Carolina. With a background in health and safety as the first Latina health inspector in Forsyth county, Carla breaks down the issues that drove her to run for office in 2022. Tenacity, finesse, and a chicana spirit got Carla very close to winning a seat in the North Carolina General Assembly.
