Good Vs Bad Food & Why It's Damaging to Think This Way And a Simple Strategy Instead

Listen Later

One of the most effective ways of rolling back the clock and putting you in control of your health and fitness is through your diet. But with so much conflicting information out there about “good" foods and “bad” foods, it can be a minefield when it comes to deciding what to put into your body.
As James discusses in this week’s show, it can be extremely damaging to think about food in such binary terms, but you can make life much easier by following a very simple strategy.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
By categorising foods as bad or good, we psychologically condition ourselves to believe that certain foods are prohibited, when that isn’t the case.
Life’s just as much about being happy as it is about being healthy. Restricting the pleasures that you can indulge in, prevents many avenues of happiness in so many areas.
Make a list of all the foods you like, and all the foods you don’t like. Concentrate on the foods you like and want, and build your dietary regime around them.
Make sure to include the foods you’re not so keen on, but know are healthy for you. It’s all about balancing and moderation.
BEST MOMENTS
’The labelling of food as “bad” or “good” is really counter-productive’
‘You might look the way you want to look, but you’re bloody miserable’
‘One-size-fits-all doesn’t work’
