Google I/O 2021 Highlights - Google unveiled Android 12 at its opening I/O 2021 keynote, and now you can try the new update yourself as part of the first public beta. The Android 12 public beta is currently available for Google’s Pixel phones / Google and Samsung announced that they are essentially combining Wear OS — Google’s operating system — and the Tizen-based software platform that has been foundational to Samsung’s wearables for many years. The resulting platform is currently being referred to simply as “Wear,” though that might not be the final name. / Google is introducing a new feature to Google Photos that lets you hide specific pictures so they won’t show up in your photo feed or in other apps. The feature, called Locked Folder, will put whatever sensitive pictures you’d rather not share behind a password. 

WABetaInfo reports that the Facebook-owned messaging app has started rolling out a new feature that will keep all your annoying chats hidden for good. As of now, archived chats can be accessed by scrolling to the bottom of your home screen and it pops on the top as soon as you get a new message in the archived chat. Now, the company is testing a new feature that will keep the archived chats hidden even when you receive a new message. The company has started rolling out a feature called ‘New Archive’ on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.11.1. This feature will house all your archived chats. It will also mute all the incoming messages that you might get in those chats.

India is currently facing the second wave of Covid-19 with many states reeling under the surge in cases. In light of the ongoing situation, Xiaomi today announced it is extending the warranty of its devices by two months in India due to Covid-19. The warranty extension is applicable on Xiaomi devices whose warranty is expiring in May or June this year.

Vi on Tuesday announced special Covid-19 relief offers for its 60 million low-income subscribers. The offers are aimed at helping customers stay connected during the ongoing wave of the pandemic. As part of the relief offers, Vi will provide ₹49 pack free to low-income customers. The pack features talk time of ₹38 and 100MB data with a validity of 28 days. “As a special gesture, with this one-time offer, VIL will be extending benefits worth up to ₹2,940 Mn to the low-income group users in the country,” said Vi in a release. Additionally, Vi has also launched a new Combo Voucher RC79, offering the benefit of double talk time of ₹128 (64+64) and 200 MB of data with a validity of 28 days, for a limited period
