Google VP becomes developer after 20 years

One of the big name in browser is Darin Fisher, as he build-ed a lot of browsers with team.

He was a software engineer at Netscape and later went to build firefox from it.

Then he was in the original team which started with Google Chrome and is considered as one of the main person behind Google Chrome and OS.

He worked in google for 16 years but became VP of Engineering.

After leaving google he restarted his career again as a developer for a new browser company Neeva.

With his credentials he could easily became the CTO of that company.

Infact after working their as software engineer for 2 years he joined another browser company, building Arc browser.

So, why did he became a developer again. Actually the kick which talented people get from coding cannot be given by any managerial job.

Even a technical manager, VP Engineering or CTO role doesn't require you to code day in and day out.

This is the thing which talented people miss and they want to create things and a Software Engineer is the person who codes the most.

Even a Team Lead or Senior Software engineer only do 70% coding and rest 30% management.

The same thing happened with the talented Google Founders - Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

After managing google for 2 decades, they gave the charge to a professional CEO and gone back to do what they love most.
