We got to know Bill Berrien — a Republican candidate for Wisconsin governor — on WIZM’s La Crosse Talk this week, discussing Donald Trump, Wisconsin’s workforce, education, manufacturing, and the newly signed state budget.
Berrien owns and is CEO of Pindel Global Precision, a manufacturing business in New Berlin, Wis. He’s also a retired Navy SEAL, and we had to ask what that was like.
Much of the conversation focused on manufacturing: how to bring more of it back to Wisconsin and how to educate and train the workforce to support it. We also covered President Donald Trump’s influence — including whether Berrien seeks the former president’s endorsement — and how Trump’s policies have impacted businesses.
Sticking with business, we discussed expanding access to higher education and job training, especially for those looking to transition into new careers.
On the campaign front, we asked Berrien if he’d prefer to face Gov. Tony Evers or another Democrat, plus his views on GOP opponent Josh Shoeman.
Lastly, Berrien shared what he liked — and didn’t like — about the new state budget.
