On Friday, Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan briefed Parliament's Standing Committee on Public Accounts, Scopa about the current state of SAA. The big issue was whether a new airline would be more viable than resurrecting the existing SAA. The airline’s situation proves to be a headache as there seems to be no workable scenario. Unions on the one hand are fighting to save jobs, on the other hand some politicians are calling for it to shut down.
