As MPs backed the prime minister's extension of Covid regulations, the SNP abstained, but David Linden, SNP MP for Glasgow East says he supports the cautious approach to reopening in the face of the Delta variant, which is already the policy of the government in Edinburgh.

Linden also tells Bloomberg Westminster's Caroline Hepker and Roger Hearing that former prime minister Gordon Brown has got it wrong when he says nationalism is rooted in distrust, and he says the SNP is committed to a new referendum.
