A Saskatoon virologist was awarded $400,000 to develop a vaccine to protect from viruses in the coronavirus family. The funding coming from both Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) helps Canadian scientists pursuing projects in preparing for epidemics and pandemics. Alyson Ann Kelvin is the scientist awarded these grants and joins Gormley to discuss the development of the vaccine happening at Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO).
